Day 1 EVOC Summer Cup saw great competition from members from all around the state, interstate and overseas. Very warm conditions and a break between the two Devonport events allowed for a much-deserved swim at the Devonport Bluff. The first race saw our Russian Scholar, Katya take the honours in the long from EVOC's Ken McLean and Arabella Phillips. In the short, Renny Duckett (ALT) won from Janet Bush (ALT) with EVOC's Lynnda Coffey in third place. The afternoon’s event saw up and coming Pathfinder, Maya Ferguson taking the win in the short from Launceston's Logan Kerr and his cousin, Tom Hampton (NW) finishing in third. The long saw Katya make it two out of two with EVOC's Jack Wickham and Ken Mclean finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively. Prizes were awarded to winners and included some of Tasmania's finest produce. Many thanks to our major sponsors, Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm and Coronea Grove Olives for their support in our event and to Pathfinders, Jo and Rod Bissett for setting and organising the first two Summer Cup events.
