At the Australopers AGM on Sunday, president Mike Calder reported that the club was in good shape, with 162 members, 54 of whom competed in the Australian Long Distance Championship at Ballarat, more than any other club in Australia. Mike thanked the many members who organised our 47 events in 2015, singling out Bert Elson for the Hobart Shorts, Sally Wayte and Jeff Dunn for both Twilight series and Jan Hardy for the Saturday series. He made particular note of Martin Bicevskis’ contribution.
Mike highlighted the excellent contribution of Christoph Prunsche in his 5 months with us and thanked the Butler family for hosting him.
Outstanding performances came from members of the winning Tasmanian School team, Jarrah Day for representing Australia at JWOC, Nicola Marshall for her selection in the National Development Squad, and Rachel Allen, Jarrah Day, Sebastian O'Halloran, Jake West and Luke West for their selection in the Australian Junior Development Squad.
