In delivering his annual report at the Wellington Ranges AGM, WROC President, Michael Dowling highlighted some of the outstanding achievements of WROC members during 2015. Of particular note were:
Hanny Allston was selected in the Australian Team for the World Championships and had an outstanding Championships. She finished on the podium in the Sprint Distance with a 5th place, was 10th in the Long Distance and 21st in the Middle Distance. She also continued as Coach of the Australian Junior World Championship Team in Norway and there were many reports of the excellent job she did with inspiring her charges. Hanny once again took out first place in all three days at the Australian Three Days. She was again ranked #1 in Australia in 2015.
Anna Dowling was selected in the Australian Team for the Junior World Championships and put in very creditable performances at her second JWOC. She was also selected in the Junior Elite Australian team for Australia New Zealand test matches. She was 3rd overall in JNOL and finished 3rd at the Australian Three Days and 1st in the Australian Middle Distance Championships. Anna was ranked #2 in Australia at the end of 2015.
Zoe Dowling was 3rd in the Australian Long Distance Championships and member of the winning Tasmanian Schools Team at 2015 Australian Schools Championships.
Alex Battaglia was a member of the winning Tasmanian Schools Team at 2015 Australian Schools Championships.
Clare Hawthorne was 1st in the Australian Long Distance Championships and 7th in the World Masters Championships Long Distance.
Mike went on to announce the Club Awards for 2015 as being:
