At this stage it is just a big of fun created by the Big Foot Orienteering Club but it is well worth taking a look. Called the Big Pink Rankings, the Big Foot Orienteering Club have adapted the British Orienteering Federation rules to create a ranking system that ranks all Australian orienteers against each other based on their performances in events over the last 12 months. It's far from perfect and will improve as time goes on.
Please take a look http://ranking.bigfootorienteers.com/display.php
Please note:
- These rankings are not officially approved by Orienteering Tasmania and in no way replace OST points and Excellence points. Enjoy them and watch how they change from week to week.
- Some people do not appear on the rankings as they have not yet reached sufficient events to qualify. This is controlled by the algorithm used and the link to the BOF rules is available on the Big Pink Rankings site. You may have to enter an OST event to get on the board.
- The Big Pink Rankings are based on results in Eventor and OT has only been entering all events into Eventor since Jan 2015.
- Not all OT results this year have been linked to individuals in Eventor because some orienteers were not in Eventor at the time of the event. We are still working on better ways for your results to be automatically connected in Eventor. Log in to Eventor and select 'My Pages > My events ' to see the results we have ben able to link to you.
- Lets get some discussion going about this on the Orienteering Tasmania Facebook site https://www.facebook.com/orienteeringtasmania
Enjoy
