The July school holidays get off to great start with orienteering events in the south of the state at the Peter Murrell reserve at Huntingfield and in the North West at Shropshire Park in Ulverstone.
In the South
The event is in the Peter Murrell Reserve located on the southern end of Kingston and is bordered by Howden, Blackmans Bay and Huntingfield. The area has lots of tracks making for interesting route choices particularly on parts of the long course. Most of the off-track areas have thick undergrowth making off track excursions hard work in places. This location has proved to be a very popular venue in the past 3 years as it is suitable for families and beginnings as well as providing sufficient challenges for experienced orienteers.

In the North West
The Ulverstone event at Stropshire Park, starts at Otto's Grotto on the edge of the Leven River. It offers a 2.5km short course, 4km medium course and a 6km Long course. All courses are easy navigation with fast open terrain.
