Hannah and Anna with compass

In the next few days, Tasmania’s top juniors, Anna Dowling, Hannah Goddard and Jarrah Day will be leaving to travel to Rauland in the beautiful mountains of southern Norway to represent Australia in the Junior World Orienteering Championships to be held from 4 – 10 July.

At the relay event at Kelvedon on Sunday, OT President, Warwick Moore, presented Anna and Hannah with northern hemisphere thumb compasses, compliments of our sponsors Fiskars Australia and Silva.  Jarrah Day was busy with his Year 12 exams, so missed the presentation, but has also received his thumb compass.

The three orienteers will join the rest of the Australian Team at a training camp prior to the championships.

All Tasmanian and Australian orienteers wish Anna, Hannah and Jarrah the very best of luck for their races.  You will be able to follow their progress on the web.
