While Orienteering Tasmania has been preparing its case for the Planning Commission Hearing in a few weeks, a new threat to orienteering at Pittwater has emerged. A separate development application has been lodged with the Clarence City Council by the same developers and will go before council on Monday evening. The agenda for the meeting is publicly available here .
The new application doesn't include housing and therefore the golf course and facilities conform with the current recreation zoning. As can be seen in the image above, the proposed golf course would cover the best orienteering areas that we use for national and international events.
In the limited time available OT has written to all Clarence City Councillors and a copy of the letter written by the OT President Warwick Moore is below:

With Warwick unavailable, OT Vice President Ian Rathbone and OT Secretary Janet Bush will be attending Monday night's council meeting to deliver a 3 minute statement to the council. The 'Save Our Spit' group will also be providing a delegation. We would encourage orienteers to support both delegations by becoming part of the public gallery on Monday night at 7.25pm at the Council Chambers in Bligh St.
