On Friday 21st January, 8 Tassie juniors, Brodie Nankervis, Ashley Nankervis, Jarrah Day, Oisin Stronach, Anna Dowling, Bec Butler, Nicki Marshall and Hannah Goddard, attended the NOL competition in Victoria. Accompanied by NOL team Manager, Dirk Nankervis along with Kim Nankervis, Mike Dowling and Jemery Day and after plane delays both in Hobart and Launceston we met up with Brodie in Melbourne, collected the WA junior NOL team, Henry and Oscar McNulty and travelled to Wangaratta, arriving at about 11.30pm. Our accommodation was fantastic! Roomy complete with 8ball table and comfy chairs and everywhere a laptop!

We had a relaxing morning with an 8 ball tournament and everyone taking the opportunity in completing some homework. Headed off to the 1st event, Rowdy Flat, Yackandandah! A tough course but Tassie with some great results! Anna taking out her first JNOL event and together with Nicki, Hannah and Bec (8th, 11th and 14th) taking second in the team’s event. Brodie was first Aussie home just behind Swedish competitor Ludvig Ahlund and with Jarrah, Ashley and Oisin finishing in 6th, 7th and 8th respectively, Tassie boys won the team’s event. In W21 NOL, Grace Crane finished in 3rd place with Hanny Alston 5th. Jemery finished 28th in M21E and Mike 3rd on course 3.
On Sunday, competition moved to Kangaroo Crossing for the long distance event. Anna and Brodie again finished in the placings with Anna 1st Aussie behind Swedish competitor Annika Carlberg and Brodie 2nd Aussie behind Ludvig and Matt Doyle (Vic). Other results, Nicki 6th, Bec 7th, Hannah 10th, Jarrah7th, Ashley 12th and Oisin 17th. Again Tassie did well in the teams with the girls taking out first and the boys finishing in second place first as well. Hanny was 1st in W21E with Grace taking out course 3.
