Brisbane was the setting for the first NOL, JNOL events for 2014. Three Tasmanians made the trip and competed in very competitive fields over the Sprint weekend.
Hanny Allston and brothers Brodie and Ashley Nankervis gained valuable NOL/JNOL points for Tassie. Their best results saw Hanny winning her individual sprint qualification race last Saturday to going on on SUnday to take out the Womens 21Elite A Final, earning her maximum individual points. Ashley Nankervis, after finishing 3rd in one of the Saturday's qualification races went on to complete the JNOL 17-20 A final in 4th place and despite running with an injury that forced him to withdraw from the qualification races, Brodie Nankervis went on to win the JNOL 17-20 B final. Even with the 17-20E Tassie JNOL team consisting of only two members, their combined results in the individual finals, still earned Tassie a 4th place in the JNOL teams event.
The next NOL/JNOL event will be held in Victoria on the 22nd/23rd March and it is anticipated that Tassie will travel with a strong junior team to compete.
