At the Medibank Private / Premiers Physical Activity Council Active Tasmania lunchtime award ceremony held today, Orienteering Tasmania was announced as the winner of the Community Organisation Award.
The awards ceremony was attended by Bert Elson, Martin Bicevskis and Sally Wayte. There were 22 entries in the main section – Community Organisations – with some pretty hot competition from the Mothers Day Classic, Dragons Abreast, Ravenswood Neighbourhood House, etc, etc but when the winner was announced .... it was us!!!
So full congratulations to Martin and Sally for drafting the submission and for Mike Calder and all the other helpers who ran the Winter Saturday Series. We have a splendid trophy and a $3000 cheque made out to Orienteering Tasmania.
