The Tasmanian All Schools Orienteering Championships were held on Sunday at Glen Stuart, Deddington. The challenging courses ensured that the best orienteers were the winners.
Summerdale Primary School and Launceston Church Grammar School continued their dominance of schools orienteering by winning the primary schools and secondary boys’ trophies respectively. Hobart’s Corpus Christi school finished second with Norwood Primary School third behind Summerdale PS. In the race for the secondary boys’ trophy, Hutchins School and Friends School were the other place getters. St Michael’s Collegiate won the trophy for secondary girls with Launceston Church Grammar School and The Friends School equal second.
Students will now compete in two more selection races in May for the Tasmanian Schools Team to compete in Canberra in September.
